Twenty-four inflatable pink rubber objects and fifteen foam cubes were installed in a temporary playground beside a horse pasture in Wolfsburg, Germany, for the 2004 State Garden Show. The pink landscape created by the structures was designed to evoke childrens’ toys and contrast with the natural surroundings. There are no fixed uses for the objects in the Temporary Playground: they are both shelter and surface, capable of being rolled into any space, transforming a sidewalk corner or a vacant lot into a beguiling and playful garden.
Topotek 1 is a Berlin landscape architecture firm founded in 1996 by Martin Rein-Cano; Lorenz Dexler joined the firm in 1999.

Jan 12, 09	Gaba: Fun idea, but sometimes I feel children need less stuff to have fun. I'm a strong believer in the box is cooler than the toy. Children and animals are always the first to recuperate empty space whether its alowed or not, its the adults that believe that this space is unused unless clearly marked.
Feb 4, 09	patty crow: these toys are beautiful. i also think that, with vestibular motion challenges, they would be a wonderful way for children with cerebral palsy to enjoy the out of doors when incorporated into a play area. like a swing in a tall tree, if one of these is set in a field of grass it would encourage appreciation of the natural world. how are they available? and, red might be better.
